also known as Treb Courie
I help individuals and families throughout Upstate South Carolina prepare wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate-planning documents, and I assist families with probate and estate administration after the death of a loved one.
Before entering private practice, I served for more than twenty-two years as an attorney in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps. I began my Army legal career preparing wills and advising soldiers deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan. I later served as a military judge, prosecutor, appellate attorney, senior legal advisor, and general counsel.
During my military career, I advised commanders and service members, presided over courts-martial, handled complex investigations and administrative matters, and served as the Chief U.S. Prosecutor for eastern Afghanistan. I deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan.
That experience taught me the importance of careful preparation, practical advice, and helping people make difficult and consequential decisions with confidence. I now bring that approach to helping clients protect their families, plan for the future, and navigate the probate process.
I strive to explain legal issues in straightforward terms and to develop estate plans that reflect each client’s family, property, and goals.
