Jeremey Poindexter was born and raised in the Midwest. He graduated from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with a degree in political science. While attending college, he accepted a position in the Office of the Governor. This led to many other political and campaign positions over the next several years. In 2003, he enrolled at Western Michigan University Cooley Law School while continuing to work part-time at both the Michigan Attorney General’s Office and the Michigan Senate Majority Counsel office.
In 2006, upon graduating from law school, he moved to South Carolina. After opening his own practice, he joined Toussaint Law Firm, P.C., in 2007, and continued to practice there until he joined our firm. While at Toussaint Law Firm, P.C., Jeremey’s practice focused on family law and special needs law. He has handled cases ranging from simple one-year divorces to divorces with complex multi-million dollar asset divisions. He also has extensive experience in custody cases and termination of parental rights actions, including having been appointed as Guardian ad Litem on numerous cases. Regardless of the type of domestic case you have, in his more than 11 years of practice, he has probably seen something similar.
Jeremey is married to his wife, Katie, and they have two children, Calvin and Adia. Due to Calvin’s diagnosis of Down syndrome, much of Jeremey’s volunteer work has been focused on serving those with disabilities. He has served as President of the Meyer Center for Special Children Board of Directors and as President of their Charter School Board. Additionally, he has served on the Board of Directors for the Down Syndrome Family Alliance of Greenville, and their Buddy Walk Committee.
Jeremey is a past representative for the 10th Judicial Circuit on the South Carolina Bar House of Delegates. Additionally, he has been named as a Fellow of the George Romney Institute for Law and Public Policy.

This was the worse experience for hiring an attorney. He did nothing to help me. Paid him 10,000 and I was shafted by him. I do not recommend his services to anyone. He is scared of the other party's attorney, He is a pansy when it comes to helping anyone.

Jeremey Poindexter helped us with our case and I could not have asked for a better attorney. We had a situation in which our children were taken by DSS. Our son was placed with my mother but my daughter was a very complicated situation. Jeremey was very detailed with us and how he would handle it and...
"I have known Jeremy from the time he first began practicing law and have the good fortune to know him both professionally and personally. Jeremy is a conscientious and caring husband, father, and member of his community and brings those same values and beliefs to his practice of law. Jeremy's thorough knowledge of the law and compassion for his clients makes him a most effective client advocate and an excellent example to the legal profession of what a "good lawyer" is all about."
"I have known Jeremey for more than ten years. I have worked with him on a multitude of cases, I have consulted him on numerous matters and I have referred many clients to him. Jeremey is exceedingly knowledgeable and proficient as an attorney and is always willing to do what is best for his clients. I endorse him without reservation."
