Better off doing it yourself!!!

I hired this "attorney" in March 2011 and I am still not divorced(October 2012). Paperwork has been "lost", not submitted or just ignored numerous times. This divorce is uncontested and I still haven't gotten it done after she has been paud in full. I can't get a response from her(I've called and wen...t in the office) she's always gone on vacation, court or with a client!! I can only assume she is way to busy to represent me at this point after 20 months of doing NOTHING to get my case resolved. I've been left in mediation meeting with my ex and her attorney to be told I'm doing good enough I can continue she had to step out for another client!!! I wouldn't recommend this joke to my worst enemy. Ive been patient, nice, understanding and everything in between. Even again last week to my copies of papers they "lost" back down there for them to retype and surprise its not done still and nobody knows what I'm talking about. Worst case of representation ever!!!!

Pain in the Pocketbook

I could have represented my self for the amount of support I recieved from her. She is great at paperwork, which meant I got to pay for it all. When we went to court she forgot her back bone and pretty much agreed with the opposing party, I feel like I got screwed over and she took advantage of the... situation. I have paid almost $3000 already and I have almost $3000 more in invoices I am having to try to pay. I have had to get another lawyer to even finish the case. He is taking it back to the beginning and has a set price and sounds like he is going to make a differnce in a HORRIBLE situation.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
