Norton McGaughy Geddie

I grew up in Tupelo, Mississippi. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in political science from Millsaps College in 1990, graduating cum laude, and myJuris Doctorate from Emory University School of Law. I am licensed to practice law in South Carolina, Georgia and Mississippi, but I have only practiced in South Carolina since 1999.  Since joining the firm in 1999, I have been the resident attorney and manager of the North Myrtle Beach office. I am actively involved in the community as a member of the North Strand Optimist Club, serving as president in 2003 and 2004, and have been an Assistant Scoutmaster since 1993. I am an affiliate member of the Coastal Carolina Board of Realtors and teache courses to real estate agents on contract matters including: Small Business Acquisition; Multiple Offers Contracting: The Basics, a GRI course. Many of these are available on the Coastal Carolina Association of Realtors' youtube channel.

I was named a shareholder in the firm in 2003.

In March of 1999 I was invited to join the firm, then titled McCutchen, Mumford and Vaught. I was hired for the specific purpose of opening the North Myrtle Beach office of the firm concentrating in real estate closings. Under the mentoring of Attorney Wayne Mumford, I had the opportunity to develop a large scale residential real estate closing and  real estate development practice.

After a few years of working in North Myrtle Beach I choose to make this town my home moving my family to the middle of the City of North Myrtle Beach. I have been fortunate to work extensively in the North Myrtle Beach real estate market both in residential and commercial real estate. I have worked with many of our local business owners in forming, purchasing, and expanding their businesses.

I have forged strong bonds with both the city and its elective representatives and city employees. I have had the opportunity to help create significant real estate developments in the City as well as to help people establish successful businesses here. As a member of the North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce I was honored to serve as its president during the 2012-2013 term. 

The beach is where I practice and this is where I make my home.
