Ryan Patrick Compton

Ryan Compton focuses his practice on representing people who have suffered significant injuries or death due to the negligence or recklessness of others.

Prior to law school, Ryan graduated from The Citadel with a B.A. in political science. While at The Citadel, he was proudly appointed to numerous leadership positions including serving as a Battalion Commander. He earned his inclusion on the President’s List, the Commandant’s List, and the Dean’s List seven out of eight semesters. Ryan is the 2010 recipient of the Association of Military College’s President’s Award.

After earning his degree from The Citadel, Ryan attended the University of South Carolina School of Law on a merit scholarship. He clerked for numerous law firms during law school, including a preeminent Columbia-based defense firm. Prior to founding Baker Compton Law Firm, Ryan joined a large Murrells Inlet-based law firm where he honed his practice helping injured persons, handing complex civil litigation, and headed that firm’s appellate practice division. Ryan has appeared before numerous trial courts throughout the state of South Carolina and has experience handling civil appeals before both the South Carolina Supreme Court and South Carolina Court of Appeals. He was selected and previously served as the 15th Circuit Representative for the South Carolina Bar’s Young Lawyers Division. Ryan previously served on the South Carolina Bar Practice and Procedure Committee.

Ryan and his lovely wife, Amanda, live in Murrells Inlet with their young son.
