Charles Epps Ipock

Charlie’s diverse educational and workplace background, coupled with his local roots, have prepared him to handle complex litigation through listening and engaging his clients throughout the litigation process. Charlie obtained his Bachelor of Science from NC State where he graduated magna cum laude and gave the commencement address for his department at the graduation ceremony. Soon thereafter, Charlie and his wife—Dr. Virginia Clyburn-Ipock of Lee County—moved to San Antonio, Texas, both to further their educations. While at St. Mary’s University School of Law, Charlie was elected the Editor in Chief of the schools flagship law review while simultaneously publishing three law review articles—two of which have been cited multiple times by national legal publications. Charlie also honed his trial skills while working for the prestigious Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals based out of New Orleans, Louisiana, studying trial advocacy, and working for one of the busiest probate courts in the state of Texas. After graduating in the top 5% of his law school class and being awarded the American Law Institute’s Continuing Legal Education Scholarship and Leadership Award, Charlie was an associate at a large firm in San Antonio, Texas. Charlie was a member of the firm’s trust, estate, and fiduciary litigation practice group, along with being a member of the commercial and business litigation practice group. Charlie’s Texas practice focused on providing litigation counsel to Fortune 500 companies, international oil and gas companies, and trustees and executors managing significant estates. His diverse practice also reached into federal bankruptcy court, assisting foreign nationals with banking regulations, aviation regulations, and more. This background allows Charlie to provide legal services needed by large corporations and small businesses. As an attorney, Charlie strives to listen to his clients, explain the routes forward in layman’s terms, and collaborate with clients to ascertain what the client hopes the end result to be. Charlie was born in Charleston, lived in Greeleyville as a child, and was raised in Charlotte, North Carolina; his family still lives in Williamsburg County. He understands the complexities of the community, and with his background, can provide the advice, guidance, and result desired.
