After nearly a decade litigating high-stakes cases at a large firm in Washington, D.C., I moved to Mount Pleasant to put that same preparation to work for people instead of corporations. There's real satisfaction in helping good people fight, and win, against insurance companies and institutions that refuse to do the right thing.

My practice is built around car accidents, serious injury, and wrongful death, the cases that upend a family's life overnight. I also take on civil rights cases, including police shooting and excessive force claims, when someone's been unlawfully hurt by the people who were supposed to protect them.

I handle my cases personally, from the first call through trial if that's what it takes. No call center case manager and no rotating cast of associates.

When I'm not in the courtroom, I'm usually flying somewhere around South Carolina. I'm an instrument-rated private pilot, and I like the same thing about flying that I like about trial work: it doesn't reward guessing.
