Ben Traywick is a trial lawyer who represents clients in matters relating to personal injury and wrongful death; defective construction and contractor/developer negligence; investment fraud and money manager negligence/misrepresentation; probate and contested will claims, and various other matters. He has been lead counsel in more than a dozen trials seen through to verdict, in both state and federal courts in South Carolina.
Practicing law in his hometown of Charleston, Ben has a lifetime's worth of great friends and his entire family: parents, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and his own lovely wife and two little girls. Yet unlike many "locals", Ben embraces the wave of new arrivals the Charleston area has seen in recent years from all over the country. In his view the new folks bring new energy and new ideas which keep the scene here vivid and interesting. In recent years Ben has represented clients hailing from Washington and California, Massachusetts and New York, and of course many from across South Carolina.
Outside of work Ben reads as many good books as possible, wets a fishing line here and there, and hones his chronically mediocre home improvement skills. He serves his neighborhood civic club as its treasurer and attorney, his church on its vestry and as lector, his town on its Historical Commission, and his colleagues in the South Carolina Bar in its House of Delegates.

Mr. Treywick litigated my case. He did his homework well and that work allowed us to settle my case satisfactorily. The settlement I got was within the range I told him that I wanted to put in my pocket. He made it happen. He was forthcoming with the entire process and informed me on what to expect a...
"Ben is a workhorse. He's relentless on a case. He finds every fact useful to his case and beats the defendant over the head with it. Can't go wrong with this guy."
"I have known Ben professionally for a number of years as opposing counsel on several cases. He is a respected member of the bar and is held in high esteem by his colleagues. I believe him to be a competent, knowledgeable and professional attorney who maintains the highest ethical standards and works tirelessly for his clients. I would not hesitate to refer a potential client to him."
"Ben is true gentleman and outstanding attorney. He takes a very realistic approach to the value of a case while maintaining his ethical integrity. I've known Ben for years and have worked together with him on various files. He cast insight into some areas I had not previously considered. I would not hesitate to work with him again or recommend a potential client to retain his services."
"In the past decade, Ben and I have been on opposite sides of cases numerous times, and from both sides of the aisle. Ben has always been professional and friendly, but also firm in his representation of his clients. He practices law the way we are supposed to, and it shows in the results he obtains for his clients."
"Ben is uniquely qualified to handle injury matters due to his having worked on both sides of injury claims. Like most good trial attorneys, Ben started his career in a defense firm prior to establishing his own firm which now assists those harmed by the negligence or intentional misconduct of others. He knows the tactics insurance companies use to limit the recoveries clients deserve. Ben has the advantage of being a local who can use is contacts to assist his clients and has the intelligence and drive to maximize results for his clients."
"I endorse this lawyer. Mr. Traywick is a superb lawyer and advocate for his clients. He is analytical, industrious, and zealous. When Ben drafts a document, we know it is accurate and thorough. I recommend him for your litigation issues. He has experience, knowledge and advocacy skills."
