Margie Roberta Scott

Margie Scott, Esq is a South Carolina Bar licensed attorney practicing entertainment law. Margie has extensive experience assisting entertainers, politicians and small business owners succeed in their goals. From drafting and reviewing contracts, copyright and trademark registration, to voter registration laws and campaign ethics compliance, Margie has the skills and knowledge her clients depend on.

Education

Margie obtained her Juris Doctorate in 2015 from Charlotte School of Law, in Charlotte, North Carolina and her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with a Minor in Social Work in 2018 from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina.

Entertainment Background

From early childhood, Margie was connected to the arts. She played many classical instruments including the viola and piano as a child and also participated in arts such as drama and dance. Later on, Margie served as a Fellow at the Library of Congress. During this time, Margie studied copyright law and gained invaluable knowledge.

After her fellowship ended, Margie became an independent consultant for Blacks in Government and Daniel A. P. Murray. She used her connections to secure the opportunity to work with Grammy Award Winning artist Mary Mary, MyBlock Records, WeTv producers, radio host Tony G, as well as others. Margie flawlessly facilitates and coordinates with national recording artists, managers, record labels, producers and other to ensure projects are completed timely.

Political Background

Margie has an expansive background in politics and prides herself on her knowledge and experience in the political field. Some highlights:

o   Congressional Intern for Congressman James E. Clyburn

o   Communications Fellow for Hillary For America

o   Regional Field Organizer for Democratic Party for 11 counties in South Carolina

o   Driver for two presidential motorcades that included working with the US Secret Service

o   Staffed and promoted two events for Vice President, Joe Biden in South Carolina
