Biography
I have been very fortunate to practice as a trial lawyer for over 30 years. I only represent people who have been injured though other's negligence. I do not represent insurance carriers, employers or campanies. As 1 of 10 children from a farming family in Chester SC, I know what it is like to work hard and appreciate one's roots. While neither of my parents graduated high school, I feel very Blessed to have gone to college, graduating in three years with degrees in economics and finance and then attend the University of South Carolina School of Law(1984) which honored me in 2015 with the COMPLEAT Lawyer award, which recognizes one's contributions and service to the legal profession. Recognition by ones peers is a great honor. My 10.0 AVVO rating and Martindale Hubbel AV rating are the highest awards possible for both skill and integrity. In fact, the majority of my clients come from referrals from other lawyers both in SC and across the country. I have served as President of the South Carolina Trial Lawyers(2000) and currently am one of three SC lawyers serving as Governor to the American Association of Justice.
