Will’s practice is primarily focused on personal injury claims, nursing home negligence, trucking and automobile accidents, traumatic brain injuries, burn injuries, wrongful death claims, consumer class action litigation, and criminal defense. Will strongly believes in providing personal service to every client and enjoys working closely with his clients throughout the life of their case.
Will is a graduate of Davidson College and the University of South Carolina School of Law. In law school, he was a member editor of the South Carolina Journal of International Business and was a law clerk at the South Carolina Senate Judiciary Committee. Under the guidance of Senate Attorney Katherine Wells, he worked in the areas of judicial merit screening, lotteries and gaming, historical preservation, and budget issues for the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Will began his legal career gaining valuable trial experience. Out of law school, he clerked with the Honorable John C. Hayes, III at the South Carolina 16th Judicial Circuit and then was able to hone his trial skills prosecuting cases under the stewardship of Solicitor Donald V. Myers in South Carolina’s 11th Judicial Circuit. He successfully prosecuted cases involving violent offenses, DUI’s involving seriously bodily injury, and major drug crimes.
After the Solicitor’s office, Will went into private practice with Ralph S. Kennedy, Jr. and the Honorable Julius H. Baggett at the Kennedy Law Firm where he represented clients from all walks of life in both criminal and personal injury matters. Since going into private practice, Will has also been an active member of the South Carolina Young Lawyers Division, having served as a past circuit representative. As a circuit representative for the Young Lawyer’s Division he helped organize several programs and events for Young Lawyers and worked on various charity projects including Cocky’s Reading Express which is a program created to teach elementary school students in underserved public schools the importance of life-long reading. He is also a member of the South Carolina Association of Justice.
