Thomas Pinckney Bellinger

Thomas P. Bellinger, shareholder in McWhirter, Bellinger & Associates, P.A., joined the firm in 1989 and practices in the areas of automobile accidents, workers’ compensation, wrongful death, medical malpractice, product liability, premises liability and all forms of personal injury.

He received his B.A. from the University of South Carolina in 1981 and his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1987.  He was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1987 and the United States District Court, District of South Carolina and United States Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit, in 1989.

Mr. Bellinger served as law clerk to the Honorable Julius H. Baggett, Circuit Court Judge, Eleventh Judicial Circuit, 1987-1988, and was an assistant public defender for Lexington County, 1988-1989. Mr. Bellinger is a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association, the South Carolina Association for Justice, the South Carolina Injured Workers’ Advocates, and the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Education Association. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association, its Torts and Insurance Practices and Workers’ Compensation sections, and a former member of its Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee.  He is also a member of the Lexington County Bar Association. He is a former member of the Lawyer-Physician Committee.
