Higher fees than expected

I used Don Jordan based on the recommendation of my realtor. I received the rate for a simple closing on a residence 2 days prior to closing. His fee was between 50% and 300% higher than any of my real estate contacts in the Asheville, Raleigh and Piedmont areas had seen. I was shocked. Prior to the ...close, I pointed out math and spelling errors but I had experienced those in other closings also. Annoying but may be part of the deal, who knows. I recommend shopping and comparing rates before signing up with Mr Jordan.

Competent and capable to handle your transaction.

We contacted Mr. Jordan because we were buying a property and needed a closing attorney. His office handled everything perfectly, down to a mortgage company that never quite got its act together. He kept a calm hand on the rudder, and the deal got done without a hitch despite some really weird ...stuff that must have been new even to him. He made something complicated simple, and took care of business.

Very dissatisfied and confused by his lack of concern and his unresponsiveness.

We engaged this attorney for real estate related work in 2004 and again in 2011. I recently called his office to make an appointment because I had questions regarding the documents he'd previously prepared. He refused any appointment, refused to answer my question or discuss my problem at all. He t...old me that he could not answer my questions because of subsequent work he'd done, that there might a problem with attorney client privilege, and to go and find another attorney. For this reason, I would not recommend him. If privilege was a concern, perhaps the subsequent work should have been refused.
