Unprofessional communication style

She refused to take my case which was fine. I understand attorneys aren't always available to help, but she did so with a rude and terse response and when I asked if she could give me a referral for any pro bono lawyers she tersely replied "I don't know other attorneys' fee schedules. Do you want t...he referral or not?" Very disrespectful and unnecessarily impolite. She could have simply said, "I'm sorry but I'm not available that day" and when asked about a pro bono referral (which I had been advised to ask by LLPP of NC) she could have simply and politely said, "I don't have fee schedules for other lawyers but I would be happy to give you a referral and you may ask them directly". There was no call to practically bark at me like I'd asked her to donate her lungs. I would never recommend someone who responds to perfectly reasonable questions so unprofessionally. I was referred to her by LLPP of NC and since that obviously suggests that I was seeking pro bono or sliding scale services I felt as if the dismissiveness and terseness of her call was directed at me personally as a less lucrative potential client. That may not have been her intention but it was the effect her response had on my already upset and disquieted nervous system. She should consider how her tone affects people who are seeking her services as many may be in states of distress and a rude response like she gave will only add to their distress and there is no reason to be rude to people who are simply requesting assistance. Again, her refusal isn't the problem - it's the tone in which she voiced her refusal that I found unacceptable.

Great results!

Noel Fox is a very detailed & knowledgable attorney. She obtained an extremely favorable outcome in my matter and was responsive, answering all my questions and concerns. Ms Fox's fee was very fair & reasonable. Lastly, her straightforward answers (and keen sense of humor) kept me from undue panic &... worry during a very stressful situation.

Obviously the previous reviewer did not use Ms. Fox.

Ms. Fox is exceptionally responsive. I doubt the previous reviewer actually engaged Ms. Fox for her services since they refer to her as Charlotte. She does not use her first name but instead goes by Noel. Ms. Fox was not the first attorney involved in my matter but she was the first attorney to expl...ain clearly to me the emotional and financial costs associated with litigation. All of my phone calls were returned within 24 hours. I was in great hands with Ms. Fox. She provided excellent legal advice at a fair price. She brought my matter to resolution for less expense than the previous attorney that represented me and well in advance of the projected time frame the previous attorney had promised. I always knew where my case stood and what the next step was for me. I was also well informed in advance of the costs of moving forward.

Save yourself a headache and look elsewhere

Charlotte did a poor job communicating and handling of my case. She charges at least double of what her work is worth. She does a 50% job. She took two months to file paperwork with the courts even when given direct instruction to proceed immediately. Then when she sends you a letter she expects you ...to respond the same day! When you pay her thousands of dollars up front, you would expect her to work diligently on your behalf. When you make a 2 minute phone call to her she bills you for an entire hour. If all you need is a strongly worded letter then she will meet your needs. If you need someone to back up the talk, look elsewhere. Out of the few lawyers I've worked with, she is by far the worst. It says she has been licensed to practice in NC for 9 years. the lack of reviews should have been a warning sign
