Replied last February 21, 2018Marie: There were several take aways from our consult. First, after you expressed catastrophic financial problems and hatred of your career- I showed you that there are other paths (amazing ones!) to walk than the American "trick"of rampant consumerism that urges us to frantically earn money in order to spend more money and buy things we cannot afford. This does not create joy. I also strongly counseled that your limited funds would be better spent in STEM tutoring rather than child beauty pageants to provide your children with the best options in the future. If my opinion of child pageants as creepy and cruel offended you- good people can have different opinions. Secondly, I was acutely aware of your family obligations- hence I did not charge you for a 2 hour plus consult where I drove to meet you and was fully present with you every moment as you detailed your current predicament.
