also known as J. Duane Gilliam, Jr., Duane Gilliam
Gilliam Law Firm PLLC was founded in 2002. As a smaller firm, our staff collaborates every day to provide excellent service and skills to our clients. Our goal is to exceed our clients' expectations.
Gilliam Law Firm's primary focus is Elder Law and Special Needs Law. The practice of Elder Law and Special Needs Law is complex and comprised of many areas, including Estate Planning, Estate and Trust Administration, Guardianships, Social Security and Other Retirement Benefits Planning, Long Term Care Planning, Medicaid Asset Planning, Veterans' Benefits, Medicaid Estate Recovery, Wills and Trusts, Powers of Attorney, and Healthcare Advanced Directives.
Duane is a magna cum laude graduate of Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University. He received his undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University. It is challenging to stay abreast of the ever-changing laws and rules governing the different areas of Elder Law and Special Needs Law, so Duane continues to work diligently to further his legal education by attending courses, reading updates, and working towards additional certifications. He attends the Elder Law and Special Needs Law Symposium every year.
Duane Gilliam, Jr. is a former prosecutor and experienced trial attorney. Duane has experience in all of the courts in Cumberland County, both State and Federal. Duane is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association and the Cumberland County Bar Association. Duane is also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA).
Duane is an active volunteer in the community. He has served as mentor for high school students competing in the NC Advocates for Justice's High School Mock Trial Competition. Duane serves on the Planned Giving Committee at his church. Duane has also served on the boards of Methodist University Foundation, Fayetteville Shrine Club, and the North Carolina Veterinary Foundation.

Great attorney
I was very pleased with the level of service I received from Mr. Gilliam Jr. He explained all the possible outcomes, and kept me informed as my case progressed. Very easy to talk to, just a good attorney.
