Initiated a $5000 retainer to discuss potential litigation. Research was required prior to the call; but on the call there seem to be lack of research when discussing the contract, the breach and all details which were provided to Joe. This the! obligated more time on the call to discuss things that ...should have already been known due to the research. I would also assume in the research process, the attorney would’ve found I already had a lawsuit from the opposing party, which I was unaware of. (As I had not yet been served) This is vital information and Joe had all info to do simple searches to determine this public information. Thankfully, I consulted with another attorney, who notified me there was pending litigation against me, prior to even looking into the contract. Which cost me zero. Being that the opposing party initiated a lawsuit in a different state, it changes the circumstances and my options for representation drastically. I spent over $1,000 on research and a call with Joe. Nice guy. Just believe he did not put in the time and effort that was billed & missed key information that makes consulting with an attorney valuable. I, personally, wouldn’t feel confident in him representing me. I’m hopeful this review only encourages additional focus and attention to detail.
