When push came to shove, he rolled over.

He's really bad at interviewing witnesses on the stand, and is visually uncomfortable speaking to judges. When we got into the courtroom it was clear he was completely unprepared: he didn't know anything about the case (x happened, then y, then z, etc), was unfamiliar with basic witness informatio...n, he never asked the prosecutor's expert any questions, and the one cop that bothered to show was completely let off the hook when the body-cam video footage and his written report had almost nothing in common. He stammered his entire way through opening and closing arguments, which spent swinging at emotions (poorly) when he should have been hammering facts and pointing out inconsistencies.

Know who retain before you pay!

I hired George back in 2005. I had a list of charges that kept compounding more and more. I decided to hire him after a lecture from a state trooper who could have arrested me but said I was lucky it was the near the end of his shift and did not want to do the paper work, assuming a lot. I had failur...e to appears so I also has warrants when he let me go. I hired George and put 100 dollar down payment retainer. I was planning on paying him in full after the judgment. I ended up getting warrants in the mail for failure to appear. I assumed it was in error because I put a down payment for his service. I went to court on the court date after not hearing anything. They never called my name I saw him there. I saw people going to jail in front of me for being late missing their actual court time. I walked out afraid for arrest and called him. He said I didn't pay him. I asked his receptionist if they do payments, she told me to ask him. He agreed and say yes. I paid him 400 that day. He told me to meet him back in the same court room. I still saw people being arrested. Judge was having a bad day! I walked out again thinking I wasn't getting off the hook. George had to play lawyer in 2 court rooms so he was back and forth. I ended up seeing him in the hallway and told him I don't want to go to jail. He said. Your not, lets go take care of this now. We walk in. He goes right to the front. He had them call me up next. He talked to the judge. The judge looks at me, PAY THE FINE. That was it. We were done. Cleared up years of running from the law and warrants. It was the start of a clean slate. So if you hire him do your homework. Make arrangements, get it in writing. Mostly, keep in contact with him. I since have chosen a new lawyer. One that is more, I feel is compassionate to his clients without judgement. Trust me, I have had a few,

Highly recommend this lawyer

I have used George's legal services several times in the last 10 years. He is always polite and professional. He returns phone calls in person, the same day guarantied! No emotional BS and to the point. He tells you the way it is and what needs to be done. I used him successfully several times ...from traffic tickets, to dumb things my teenage son did, to false accusations. He knows the law and what the law's boundaries are. This man is an outstanding lawyer and I can only highly recommend him, (which I have done several times).

I would not recommend this lawyer at all

George Laughrun humiliated my son in court., He did not know the case, what was in the discovery, knew statements were with held that could have helped. Did not investigate the case . Lead my son to the dogs. Let the media keep going on and on. Did not protect in any way, professionally or responsibl...y. Judge made a ruling and Laughrun went up to the bench and made the judge add to his own clients sentence. What an idiot lawyer when it comes to complicated matters. He did not work on the case at all. Always a clean desk. Never a file on his desk to discuss. always argued with us. Took his client to talk to the ADA, ALE, and State Hwy Patrol, knowing he had a traumatic brain injury, and could not comprehend what was being asked. Did not remember the meeting at all. I will never forget how this man treated the family, and humiliated his supposed client at the bench trial, and even agreed with the victims families. And also used this to help the ADA. All I have to say now is stay away from this lawyer if you don't want to be humiliated and not protected. Also, Made a speech : Your honor I can not tell you how many I have arrested, sent to prison, etc. in court.

confused

When I was a client of George Laughrun, he would not answer the questions I asked which were very important to me. George is a good salesman, but he lacks intelligence or just simply lazy. I never knew the plea, I never signed a contract, I never discussed money, but I did try to get him to work o...n my case. He said nothing had to do with my case. Well now I know it was. And he did not represent me in a defense matter, just the opposite, he humiliated me in court. I will never forget that. So I do not recommend anyone if they want a fair lawyer , trustworthy lawyer, to pick this lawyer. I would recommend into looking at other lawyers.
