How can I be assured my SSDI wont be at risk with a LTD lump settlement? Is there specific language I should look for?

Your post is a bit confusing. You posted in work comp area, but the LTD carrier has made a settlement offer? NOT the work comp carrier?

No, you don't have grounds for either.
Your lawyer has not seen the letter yet. Take it to him Monday and after he sees it, ask for some advice.

You cannot sue but you can file a workers' comp claim. To do that you need to file Form 18" with the NC Industrial Commission. You can do that...
