I met Anastasia Cowan two years ago at a time that I had given up on all family law lawyers. Previous lawyers were only interested in billable hours and stretching my custody case for as long as possible. A lot of money resulted in zero results for me as a client! If you’re going through child custody, divorce.. save time and energy and hire Anastasia Cowan. She’s a child welfare law specialist (1 out of 22 lawyers in N.C.). Like most of us do when we find ourselves in need of an attorney, we thank to ourselves, how much is it going to cost and how will I pay for it. That is exactly what I said when I found myself in a child custody battle between me and my ex. After going to court, I quickly realized that this was no...t a task I wanted to take on without legal advice. Again, like most of us I ran to the rescue of the internet. I began to search for attorneys based on ratings and reviews. After that, I narrowed it down based on what each attorney charged and for what. After explaining to her how many times I had been to court, how many judges I had spoken to, and how many attorneys I had, she just smiled and said “ok and”! I took a stack of papers about 2 inches thick and pushed them across the table to her, I told her that these were the papers I had collected over the years going back and forth to court. She smiled and said, “I am here to help you”! I said to her “that’s what the last 3 attorneys said and now I am left with a big debt and a stack of papers”. She smiled and said “just give me a chance, it’s going to cost you, I am not sure how much and if you feel like we are getting in too deep just let me know and I won’t be offended, we can stop”. Fast forward to a year later, I now have custody of my daughter during the school year, along with child support to assist me with caring for her needs.
