Alec Jalovec was born in Ohio but spent most of his childhood in Wisconsin. Alec studied Psychology at Ripon College in Wisconsin where he made the Dean’s list six times, and graduated with academic honors. He was also a member of Theta Chi fraternity and Order of Omega. Alec, tired of the long winters and shoveling snow, decided to move to Charlotte, North Carolina where he obtained his Juris Doctor degree.
While in law school, Alec excelled academically. He became a Teaching Assistant so he could assist other students improve their research and writing, and he served as the Senior Articles Editor on the Charlotte Law Review. Alec graduated in the top 3% of his class and obtained both pro bono and academic honors.
During law school, Alec interned with Justice Paul Newby at the North Carolina Supreme Court where he assisted Justice Newby’s clerks with writing briefs and performing legal research. After finishing his internship with Justice Newby, Alec gained valuable experience working at a local Charlotte law firm. During this experience, Mr. Jalovec helped draft Merger and Acquisition contracts, non-compete agreements, and operating agreements for many Limited Liability Companies. He gained valuable experience in many areas of law, including: post-judgment collections, construction litigation, business formation, breach of contract, and family law. Prior to working at Tran Law Firm, Mr. Jalovec worked as an HR Compliance Specialist for a large North Carolina corporation, which required him to frequently travel to Washington, D.C. to investigate the corporation’s wage and hour practices, and helped the corporation maintain compliance with numerous federal and state employment laws.
In October 2016, Mr. Jalovec married his wife Audrey, the woman he met on his first day of law school. He and his wife currently reside in Charlotte, NC with their dog, Wiley, and they love taking him to the Dog Park on the weekends. Mr. Jalovec is also a diehard football fan and he can usually be heard throughout the city yelling at his TV on Sunday afternoon.
