James A. Davis

James Davis is very compassionate and genuinely cares. He is a great man who will fight for what is right. I had the opportunity to see him conduct a jury trial in Superior Court in my case. I could not have been more pleased. The attention to detail on everything was incredible. The issues in my cas...e were complex and involved multiple expert witnesses. Due to the skill and grit of Mr. Davis and the Davis Law Firm, my case resulted in a hung jury. I cannot thank him and everyone at the firm enough for their efforts.

On December 22, 2016, I found myself with a DUI and Driving on Revoke charge in Rowan County. I knew that I was in trouble due to being on probation for prior DUI's. I hired James A. Davis, II from Davis and Davis Attorneys at Law. During our first meeting Mr. Davis, made extremely detailed notes fro...m my side of the story. He told me from the start that things did not look good for me and I would face 3 years “day for day” in prison if convicted. Shortly after our meeting, I experienced severe health issues as I was burned on 40 percent of my body. I had court dates twice during this time. Mr. Davis was able to get each date continued without any issues. I also asked that Mr. Davis buy me time if possible as I had begun taking care of my Mother who is sick with dementia. He reassured me that he would do everything in his power to fight for me and he did even though my case seemed bleak. Mr. Davis believed in me as a person. As I healed I knew crunch time was approaching and I had prepared myself for prison, mentally. On the following court date, Mr. Davis made a motion to have a suppression hearing. This was not expected but Mr. Davis was able to talk the judge into allowing for more time to prepare which resulted in another continuation. During the last court date, I expected to be convicted and to then appeal. My sister and I entered the courtroom and found a special prosecutor who only works on DUI cases had been brought in. I did not think I had a chance and knew I would eventually be going to prison. As the hearing began, things did not look good. I had set my expectations low and acceptance high for the day. However, Mr. Davis began working, making objections which were sustained. After a break Mr. Davis continued with his amazing trial skills and I realized, we were winning. Mr. Davis then summarized previous cases which were won for “no probable cause to arrest.” He was beyond prepared and articulate. He won his argument and my world changed immediately. I was speechless. I knew he and his team were good when I hired them, but I did not expect what I received from them. Now I have my life back and can go to work on getting my license. I learned so much about myself through this whole process and am very humbled. I would not hesitate to hire this firm. They work as a team. I never had to answer role call or say a word. They did all the work. All I had to do was show up for court presentably. At the end of my journey, I learned that this is a family firm. These people are genuinely caring and nice, and they know the law! Mr. Davis won my case using the law. I am still blown away at everything that happened and keep playing it through my mind. It was the like the best movie I had ever seen but, I never plan to be the main star in that film ever again. I feel a huge weight lifted off of my shoulders. I would like to give a shout out to his paralegal, who worked so hard behind the scenes on my case, to his son, for being there when they called role, and to his daughter who is one of the nicest people I have ever met. She talked to me as I dealt with extreme anxiety through all this and gave me hope. Finally, Mr. Davis, above all else, believed in me as a person. They all are great people and they know the law.
