I’m often questioned as to why I practice family law. Comments from other people usually go something like this: “I don’t know how you deal with the drama,” “I couldn’t listen to everyone complain about their divorce,” or “It would be too hard for me to be involved in a custody dispute.”
The truth is that I really enjoy helping people – yes, even through the drama and raw emotions that come with divorces and custody disputes. When a client comes to me for an initial consultation, my goal is to help this client feel like there is a plan moving forward. There are a lot of emotions present during an initial consultation, so I communicate to my clients that I will be there to take the burden of dealing with the legal issues they are facing, and that I will be helping them navigate through this process. Even after the initial consultation, my clients say that they already feel some of the weight lifted off their shoulders. I assure you that I will remain accessible, that I will listen to you, and that I will provide you with reasonable expectations for your case.
I tailor my representation to suit your needs. You will have a say in how your case gets handled, whether that means working towards an amicable solution or aggressively litigating your case in court. I am here to provide my clients with a sense of direction and guide them through this process with compassion.
As a wife, and parent to two young children, I understand how important family values are and what it means to put your children’s needs before your own. I was born and raised in Union County, North Carolina and graduated from Sun Valley High School. I have attended Weddington United Methodist Church since I was a young girl. In addition to spending time with my family and friends, I enjoy soccer, the beach, fall mountain trips, and spending time outdoors.
After practicing law in downtown Monroe for over seven years, I am excited to return to the Sun Valley community to make our legal services more accessible to our clients.
