Dana Sherrill Lahbabi is a native of Gaston County, North Carolina. Dana was born in Belmont and remained there through 2000, when she earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Belmont Abbey College. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Abbey after only three years. Dana attended the University of North Carolina School of Law, where she recevied a Juris Doctor degree in May, 2003.
While in law school, Ms. Lahbabi maintained her contacts with Gaston County, working for the law office of Robert C. Whitt throughout the summer and holiday breaks. Dana sat for the North Carolina Bar Exam in July, 2003 and was licensed to practice in August of that year. Upon being admitted to the Bar, Ms. Lahbabi returned to Gaston County to work for Mr. Whitt for approximately 2 1/2 years. During her time at the law office of Robert Whitt, Ms. Lahbabi practiced primarily Real Estate law, handling residential closings, contracts and leases, as well as estate planning. In 2004, Ms. Lahbabi began cultivating a practice in Family Law, handling matters such as divorces, child custody, property division.
In January, 2005, Ms. Lahbabi joined the firm of Whitesides & Kenny, LLP, practicing primarily in the area of Familiy Law. Dana has always aspired to operate her own practice and had the opportunity to do so in October, 2008. She has, since that time, had the privilege and opportunity to cultivate a practice in Belmont, North Carolina, where she has been able to put her experience in various areas of the law into practice.
