Stay away

I contacted William C. B. Taylor / Taylor Law Group after receiving a referral for help with a serious SNAP/FNS administrative disqualification matter. My case involves a disputed Intentional Program Violation finding, an administrative hearing record, disqualification consequences, and possible repa...yment issues. I was not calling for casual advice. I was trying to find legal help for an administrative/public benefits legal matter. During the call, I was told that I “didn’t sound like I needed SNAP benefits” because I “sounded educated.” I was also told that instead of paying $100 for a lawyer, I “should go make an income.” He also said his minimum was $800, even for five minutes of work. In addition, he made a comment that I understood as implying I did not need his help because I am a white female. A law firm does not have to accept every case. I understand that. But there is a professional way to decline representation, and this was not it. The comments were dismissive, judgmental, and completely missed the legal issue. The question in my case is not whether I “sound” like I need SNAP benefits. The issue is whether DSS properly sustained an Intentional Program Violation finding and whether the hearing record supports that decision. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this firm for public benefits, DSS matters, administrative hearings, or anyone seeking respectful legal guidance.

William Taylor has a badge of honor

First off, I agree with William Taylor that weed (Marijuana) is harmful in that it's a gateway drug for young people who are easily manipulated and misled. Every single city and state where pot has been legalized and sold to the public has turned into a political and financial nightmare for neighbori...ng business owners and parents whose children are exposed to the pothead lifestyle. At least one day care center in California had to close its doors after a weed shop opened on the other side of the wall they shared in a strip mall. When parents came to drop off or pick up their kids and were hit with the heavy "burning hair" stench of pot, they removed their kids from the day care center at once. What sort of people consider this normal and respectable? Only in North Carolina would a state bar association publicize this review on their website to smear a young attorney's reputation. When did the North Carolina Bar Association begin valuing street drugs above the reputations of their own hard-working attorneys? This used to be such a nice place to live.
