Great lawyer

Mr. Grimsley handled my traffic ticket in a completely professional and competent manner. My driving record is safe and I never had to step into the courtroom! I can't express my gratitude enough!

Got me out of a trafficking charge

I've used Mr. Grimsley for a lot of case's, since i was like 16 or so.. When i was younger he got a number of drinking tickets dropped no probation or fines or anything.. Once i got a lil older i got in more serious charges.. I had a trafficking heroin charge, trafficking is the worst it gets when yo...ur talking drug charges, in North Carolina trafficking charges hold manditory sentences. Well i wasn't a convicted felon at the time which is what saved me from having to go to prison, so he was able to was about to work out a deal with the DA to drop the trafficking charge down to a possession with intent to sell, i got two years probation. In my opinion it was a extremely good outcome because if i had been convicted of the trafficking charge i would of been sent to prison for 70 months, instead i got two years probation by taking a convicting on a lesser drug charge of possession with intent. I also took classes for drug abuse so it would look good in court... All and all my opinion about him is that he's a great lawyer.. He was always kept me well informed with what direction we were heading in and what to expect in superior court. He would call me and tell me to come meet with him in his office every so often to talk and keep me up to date. That is my experience when i hired Mr. Grimsley. I don't have one thing negative to say about him.

NEED A NEW SECRETARY!

I was told by the secretary that my 3 cases had been taken care of and that they needed more money. She also said that if I failed to pay the extra money that they would just leave the 3 charges as they were. (I signed a power of attorney over to them and was not present in court. This is what Mr. Gr...imsley suggested I do.) The fact is that the cases were already heard and the fine and court costs had already been paid. It was an amount of $213.00. I originally was told it would cost $700.00 to take care of the 3 matters and I actually paid them quite a bit more than that so IT WOULD COVER ANY FINES & COURT COSTS! The secretary told me that the money would be placed in an escrow account and would be used to cover fines and court costs. The rest would be payment to the attorney for the services rendered. It was well over $550.00 that he made spending a few minutes in court with 3 cases that did not even require me to be there! I was told that 2 of the 3 cases would be dropped totally and the remaining one that was an open container violation would be reduced to a minor infraction as if it were a passenger in my vehicle with an open beer and would not show up on my MVR. It ended up being a $25.00 fine and $188.00 in court fees. I received a copy of a consumer report with my information on it just the other day letting me know I had been turned down for a position I had applied for. I then took a closer look at the reports. The 2 cases that were supposedly dropped still showed up on my record one stating that the severity was an "Infraction" and the other stated "Misdemeanor". The two cases also stated under the 2 Disposition verdicts "DISMISSAL WITHOUT LEAVE" meaning it should not show up on my record. The worse thing of all was that the 3rd case that I was told was reduced to a "minor infraction" turned out to be a "MISDEMEANOR OPEN CONTAINER ALCOHOL VIOLATION". It is true that the Open Container charge did not show up on my Driving Record but the secretary failed to tell me that it would show up on my CRIMINAL BACKGROUND REPORT. I really wish I could have worked more one on one with the attorney Mr. Grimsley himself. I believe I would have been better informed and would have remained on the same page as my lawyer. It was due to his very rude secretary that would leave you on hold over the phone for literally 20 minutes and not even acknowledging that you were in the Law Office waiting on her while she is gossiping with her friends and co-workers on the phone for 20-30 minutes at a time about what they plan to do on the weekend. She also is very quick to get you out of there as if she had better things to do like checking her text messages. If Mr. Grimsley wants to maintain a successful practice I would advise him to reconsider his help. Because of her I would NOT RECOMMEND THIS LAW FIRM!
