I am a native of Elizabeth City, North Carolina.  I am a cum laude graduate of Campbell University's School of Law.  I have practiced law in northeastern North Carolina since 1990.  I have tried cases ranging from first degree murder to speeding cases.  I have handled thousands of DWIs, felonies and personal injury cases.  Some of my cases have received widespread media attention, including a 6-day trial on Court TV and another featured on a popular crime documentary series, Forensic Files.

He Saved Me
I knew I needed the best lawyer for my case being I had a criminal record. I hired Michael Sanders who got my charge dismissed without me going in front of the judge he is the best hands down!! I love the fact he communicated through out the entire time I was going to court. You never left wondering!!

Very Profesional
Hired Mr Saunders and from the very first meeting I knew that he was the one for the job. Mr Sanders made payment arrangements for me and made it very affordable. I have confidence that he is a pro in every aspect of his practice. My case is a criminal matter and real knowledgeable representation is what is demonstrated by Mr Sanders. Courteous, competent, effective.... A Blessing!!
Mike Sanders quickly got to the details of my ticket and was already aware of the exact traffic stop I was caught in. Given my specific circumstance he gave me effective advice on the class I should take and was able to get my original ticket GREATLY reduced, to a mere fraction of the consequences the original ticket would have had. His contact with me was professional but also compassionate, and the results of his work speak s for itself. Could not possibly recommend higher. Thanks Mike!!

Speeding Ticket Reduced
My speeding ticket (70 in a 55 zone) was too far from home to justify missing work to appear in court. The Michael Sanders law team argued successfully to reduce my ticket to a non moving violation. Everybody was friendly, timely, and helpful on short notice and did what they said they would. One flat fee covered everything, and the price was competive with other law firms in the area.

Out of State Speeding Ticket
I received a speeding ticket while leaving North Carolina following a brief vacation. The ticket was for driving 18mph over in a 55mph zone, which is considered a misdemeanor in NC and would have required that I return from out of state for a court hearing. I hired Michael Sanders and he was able to get the charge lowered to a non-moving violation, and even did so before my scheduled court date which was a huge relief. I didn’t have to worry about a potential criminal charge, my driving record was protected for insurance purposes, and I didn’t have to travel back to NC for a court appearance. Michael Sanders could not have been more helpful and I would definitely recommend his services.

Never seen anything like this
Mr. Sanders advised me of my options clearly and included his best guess on the likelihood of a positive or negative outcome. During the prosecutors questioning, Mr. Sanders took copious notes as he was finalizing his plan. As I sat listening, Mr. Sanders methodically executed his plan with exacting precision. The outcome was better than anything I could have imagined. This was not my first experience in the courtroom. With 2 divorces, I have had my share of legal dealings in and outside of the courtroom. I cannot say enough good about the professional approach Mr. Sanders brings to bear.

Making it Easy!
I received a speeding ticket while visiting North Carolina. Since I live out of state, it was not possible for me to appear in court. I reached out to Mr. Sanders to represent me and he made it a very smooth and easy process. He was able to negotiate my case to a non-moving violation which saved me from any future insurance fees. Michael Sanders is a LIFE SAVER!
I was asked by a family member who I trusted to cash a check. I was shown all proper and legal documentation to prove it’s validation but unfortunately everything including that check was fraudulent. With the help of Michael Sanders he proved my innocence in court in which I avoided jail time, having to pay mid five figures in restitution, keeping a felony OFF of my record and as a retired veteran I was able to keep my benefits. I recommend Michael Sanders to ANYONE in the North Carolina area. He saved my future.
