Joseph H. Forbes Jr.

Joe Forbes took my case and did nothing with it. He was offered a settlement which he deemed "too little" but never told me what the offer was. Then when the defendant's attorney didn't offer more, he just stopped working on my case and didn't even tell me. Didn't return my calls, emails or letters.... Just stopped working on it. I filed a complaint with the NC Bar Assn. He's a lazy attorney who does nothing for his clients.

I HAVE A LEGAL MALPRACTICE CASE PENDING AGAINST MR. JOSEPH FORBES, Jr., for failing to file my Personal Injury /auto accident.. My insurance company sent seven letters to Mr. Forbes requesting him to submit my Personal Injury case for evaluation... Mr. Forbes neglected to submit ANY of the file/reco...rds. Upon my case going into malpractice, Mr. Forbes contacted his own legal representative with his liability insurance company BEFORE informing me (two months after my case went into legal malpractice) that he neglected to file my case before the 3-year statute of limitation ran out. Actually, Mr. Forbes ' paralegal informed me when I dropped by his office to get an update on my case; Mr. Forbes himself shunned from informing me personally! Mr. Forbes had three years to file, was prompted with seven letters from my insurance company, failed to be present at at least four prearranged meetings with me in his office; scheduled by his own paralegal. When I hired Joe, he shook my hand and promised to do his "very best " as my representing attorney; he has failed miserable in his promise to me. This malpractice case continues as I search for another attorney to go against Mr.Forbes. I also have copy of a different case review of which Mr. Forbes failed to submit in a timely manner- sent to me by a prospective attorney. Mr. Forbes - You have wasted many, many months of my time. I've spent hundreds of hours of contemplating this situation as I've looked for another attorney (many who know you and one that even appeared to protect you and work against me to minimize my settlement.), you have extenuated my loss wages, caused a significant delay in my returning to the college degree program I was in, caused significant delays to my personal projects, caused me to sell a "one of" vintage car that I had for 20 years - a prized 1963 Corvette Split-window that was to be passed down to my daughter -which I had to sell at a loss just to keep my finances afloat. As I'm compiling the pertinent documents to file a Formal Grievance with the NC Bar- my insurance company called Mr. Forbes' office to verify that he no longer represents me- before they can give me copies of the seven request letters sent to Mr. Forbes; Joe has not once responded to the calls from my insurance company- causing further delay. I got around this issue by faxing, to my insurance company, letters from Mr. Forbes' insurance company; in which his representative states, "As you know, Mr. Forbes is no longer your attorney and cannot provide you with any legal advice." I have my original file from Forbes' office- albeit it lacks a thorough evaluation which Mr. Forbes DID NOT do or either Mr. Forbes removed the evaluation from the file prior to giving the file to me. Mr. Forbes writes continuing articles in a local flyer about our U.S. Constitution, Founding Fathers, and Conservative Principles...however, Joe failed to perform his duties to me as his client and has failed to be an upstanding citizen (as he a tests to be in his periodicals), with me in this serious matter, as he refuses to meet and resolve this major breech of contract. The pamphlet on "Filing a Grievance"...with the NC Bar says that in a malpractice case, any attorney that KNOWS malpractice has occurred should report the case to the NC Bar- including the attorney that the malpractice case is against. Joe, Man Up! Confer with you own liability insurance attorney, perform a thorough evaluation of my case, provide a just settlement, and make a "self"-report to the NC Bar.
