Speeding Ticket reduced to non moving violation for reasonable fee
I thought I had written a review for Mr. Murphy. I was traveling south returning to FL on I-95 when I was caught speeding. I was allegedly clocked doing 88 in a 70 mph zone. In NC this requires a court appearance. I had no intention of going to court in NC. When I got home to FL the next day and checked my post office box I had a handful of letters from attorneys wanting to represent me in this matter. Mr. Murphy's was on top so I called him. Over the phone he explained to me that for $180 I believe it was he would represent me in traffic court. I asked about potential outcomes and he assured me that he could likely get my 18 mph over the limit ticket reduced to a non moving violation. The result would be a fine but no points on my license. As I wasn't returning to NC to go to court I figured what the heck... give the man a shot. The only complaint I have about the whole process was I had to call to remind him to send me my copy of the disposition of the case. Other than that, just as promised this potentially very expensive speeding ticket (many states DOUBLE FINES IN 70 MPH ZONES) came back as "improper equipment." No points just I believe a $150 fine which was well worth paying. If you travel I-95 in the Nash County area (Rocky Mount) and are going faster than the limit, get lit up and ticketed.... call Mr. Michael Murphy and he'll get the job done.
