Throughout my legal career I have been actively involved in all types of litigation, including all forms of business litigation, securities law, intellectual property (copyright, trademark, trade dress, and patent), antitrust (Robinson-Patman Act price discrimination, price fixing, bid rigging, group boycotts, tying arrangements and monopolization) regulatory proceedings/administrative law, product liability, technology licensing disputes, trade secrets/breach of confidentiality agreements, non-competition agreements, breach of contract, deceptive trade practices, fraud, lender liability, RICO, environmental, unfair competition, corporate mismanagement, partnership disputes, franchise/distributorship law, insurance disputes, shareholder takeovers, federal administrative procedure claims, NEPA litigation, etc. My practice has included cases in state and federal courts throughout the US, including class actions and multi-district litigation. Over the years, I have also performed many audits of companies for antitrust compliance, intellectual property compliance, adequacy of policies and procedures, etc.
In addition to engaging in private practice, I have served as general counsel for a national publishing firm for over 15 years, during which I handled all legal issues arising in the course of the business, including preparation of contracts, preparation of polices and procedures, litigation avoidance/assessment/resolution, incorporation of subsidiaries and related entities, private investment placement, employer/employee relations and disputes, contractual disputes, regulatory investigations and proceedings, etc. My representative clients include individuals and a wide range of businesses (from start-ups to Fortune 500) in a variety of industries in the US and overseas, including, among many others, multi-national farm cooperatives, oil and gas companies, financial institutions, high tech companies, franchisors, distributors, publishing companies, airlines, software developers, clothing manufacturers, audio/video/entertainment services and equipment, etc.
I am proud to have consistently received a 5.0 out of 5.0 AV Preeminent Attorney rating for Legal Ability and Ethics by Martindale-Hubbell based upon peer review ratings over the years, as well as to have been named a Texas Super Lawyer and Best in Litigation.
