Matthew Burkert

Matthew Burkert is the managing partner of Constantinou & Burkert Accident Injury Lawyers, a Durham, North Carolina personal injury law firm representing clients across Durham, Wake, Orange, and Vance/Henderson counties. He focuses his practice on motor vehicle accidents, workers' compensation, and wrongful death claims, helping injured North Carolinians recover the compensation they need after a serious accident.

Matt was raised in Durham and still lives in the community where he grew up, a fact that shapes how he practices law. He understands the hospitals, insurance adjusters, courts, and roads his clients are dealing with because he's local, not a firm parachuting in from out of state.

Matt earned his Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from East Carolina University before attending North Carolina Central University School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctor in 2012. He was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar in February 2013 (Bar #45385) and has been licensed to practice in North Carolina ever since.

His path with the firm started early: Matt joined the firm, then known as Constantinou Law Group, P.A., as a law clerk in 2010 while still in law school. He stayed on after passing the bar, working his way up to associate attorney and building years of hands-on experience litigating personal injury and workers' compensation claims. In April 2023, he became a founding partner of the newly rebranded Constantinou & Burkert, PLLC, taking on the role of managing partner.

Today, Matt and his team handle car accident, truck accident, rideshare accident, premises liability, and wrongful death claims, along with workers' compensation matters, for clients throughout the Triangle and Henderson/Vance County areas of North Carolina.

Outside the office, Matt spends his time with his wife, Daisy, and their two children, Meelo and Della. He's an outdoorsman, a sports fan, cheering on the Durham Bulls, ECU Pirates, and Duke Blue Devils, and stays active in the Durham community through local giving and volunteer support.
