Matthew Burkert

Matthew Burkert is a Durham, North Carolina personal injury attorney and Managing Partner of Constantinou & Burkert Accident Injury Lawyers. He represents individuals and families injured because of the negligence of others, with a primary focus on car accidents, serious personal injury claims, workers' compensation, and wrongful death cases throughout North Carolina.

Born and raised in Durham, Matthew has deep ties to the community he serves. He attended local Durham schools before earning his bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology from East Carolina University. He later earned his Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University School of Law in 2012 and was admitted to practice law in North Carolina in 2013.

Matthew's history with the firm began in 2010, when he joined Constantinou Law Group, P.A. as a law clerk while attending law school. After becoming a licensed attorney, he remained with the firm and spent the next decade developing extensive experience representing people injured in accidents and workplace incidents. In April 2023, Matthew purchased the firm, which became Constantinou & Burkert Accident Injury Lawyers, and now serves as its Managing Partner.

Outside the office, Matthew enjoys spending time with his wife, Daisy, and their two children, Meelo and Della. He enjoys the outdoors and is a fan of the Durham Bulls, ECU Pirates, and Duke Blue Devils. He also remains involved in the Durham community through local organizations and charitable support.
