Education and Professional Experience
Chris attended East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and Philosophy with a concentration in Law and Society in 2003. Immediately after, Chris attended law school at Campbell University where he received his Juris Doctorate degree in 2006.
Throughout law school, Chris had an opportunity to participate in litigation under the 3rd year practice rule with the Harnett County District Attorney’s Office. Here, he gained valuable litigation experience which helped him transition into his legal career as a personal injury attorney.
Upon graduation, Chris taught Law and Social Change at East Carolina University while practicing in Greenville, North Carolina. Shortly after, Chris transitioned to Beaufort, North Carolina where he practiced personal injury litigation for Wheatly, Wheatly, Weeks, & Lupton, PA. After several years, he relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina where he served as Assistant Attorney with the North Carolina Department of Justice. Here, he helped litigate several Eminent Domain projects across the State Of North Carolina and found his passion for helping victims of the “takings clause”. Soon after, Chris transitioned back to private practice and focused solely on personal injury and eminent domain for individuals.
Chris currently serves as Chair of Diversity & Membership for the Eminent Domain Section of North Carolina Advocates for Justice.
Family and Free Time
When not fighting for his clients, Chris enjoys playing guitar, surfing, fishing, and traveling with his wife, Laura, and their four children.
