When not practicing law, Ty enjoys spending time with his wife, Amy, and their Yorkie, Roxy. Ty is also a professional musician and band leader. His groups have played venues all over the State and Southeast and he is often recognized around the city of Raleigh for his encyclopedic knowledge of popular music. Ty has previously worked on the Racial Justice Act through the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and many other social justice projects including periods with political, judicial, public defender, and legal aid organizations.
