Meredith Laughridge Cross

Meredith Laughridge Cross is a Board-Certified Family Law Specialist and a Parenting Coordinator. She joined Gailor Hunt Davis Taylor and Gibbs in 2009 and became a partner in 2017. Meredith’s practice primarily focuses on prosecuting and defending family law claims such as child custody, child support, spousal support, equitable distribution, and domestic violence. Meredith represents her client’s interests in litigation as well as through the negotiation and preparation of family law contracts, such as Premarital Agreements, Postnuptial Agreements, and Separation and Property Settlement Agreements. In her role as a parenting coordinator, Meredith helps parents resolve disputes, improve communication, and navigate difficult co-parenting decisions.

In 2015, Meredith received the Spotlight on Professionalism Award from the Wake County Bar Association and Tenth Judicial District Bar in recognition of her extraordinary efforts to promote professionalism in the Tenth Judicial District and Wake County Bars.

In 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021, Meredith was selected as a North Carolina Rising Star by Thomas Reuters Super Lawyers in the category of Family Law. In addition, Meredith is a member of the North Carolina Pro Bono Honor Society for the years 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020.

Meredith graduated Wake Forest University in 2004 with a B.A. in History. She then earned her law degree from Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law in 2008, where she was a member of Delta Theta Phi and received a Book Award for Juvenile Court Mediation. Meredith was admitted to practice in 2008 and is a member of the Wake County Bar and North Carolina Bar Association.

Meredith is a current member and past Chair of the Wake County Bar Association’s Public Service Committee. She is also a current member of the Wake County Bar Association Professionalism Committee.
