Paul R. Lucey

Paul Lucey graduated from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1981 with a degree in Government and from Cornell Law School in Ithaca, New York in 1991 where he was both a member and editor of theCornell Law Review. Between college and law school, Paul worked in Boston in the administration of then Massachusetts Governor Michael S. Dukakis, holding staff positions in the areas of Adult Corrections, Juvenile Justice, and Mental Health, respectively.

Between 1991 and 2007, Paul worked in large law firms in Boston (1991-94) and Washington, D.C. (1994-2007) representing a host of Fortune 500 and smaller corporate entities, municipalities, and individuals in litigation in both state and federal courts throughout the country. Beginning in 1994 and continuing through the present, Paul’s litigation practice has largely  focused on representing corporate and individual policyholders in actions brought against their insurers to ensure the payment of meritorious claims for coverage under a wide variety of insurance policy types, including: comprehensive and commercial general liability policies, first-party property policies, media special perils policies, homeowner’s policies and automobile policies.

In the fall of 2007, Paul moved with his family (including his wife, Linda, and their two teen-aged children) to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where, for more than a year he represented injured plaintiffs suing for damages under automobile and homeowner’s policies. In January 2010, Paul opened his own law firm based in Chapel Hill, with an eye to applying his eighteen years of experience litigating commercial and insurance-related disputes on behalf of individuals and business entities in the Research Triangle Area and throughout North Carolina.
