OUTCOME: DUI charges dismissed; pled to wet reckless

Client pulled over for swerving; after DUI investigation, his blood alcohol level was .14/.15, almost double the limit. He admitted to drinking 6 beers in short time span. During DMV hearing, offic ... er testified about completely different case and I successfully argued that there was insufficient evidence for my client's license to be suspended. The hearing officer agreed and it was a win! I took that result to the D.A. and successfully got the DUI charges dismissed. Client pled to a wet reckless and never had his license suspended.

Took over case from a ... ttorney who negotiated cases for 10 years state prison. D.A. started out offering 15 years state prison for client. After 7 months of negotiations, convinced D.A. to drop 16 felony charges and offer 5 years, 4 months of state prison at 50%.

Client arrested and charged with domestic violence after boyfriend called 911, reporting Client stabbed him with scissors. After a few months of negotiations, and prosecutor demanding a plea to domest ... ic violence charge, 52 week program, and probation, we set case for trial. Ex-bofyriend never showed up for trial and the case was dismissed outright. I knew he was not desirous of prosecution, but didn't know how the trial would turn out. Our unwillingness to settle paid off and the prosecutor had no choice but to declare unable to proceed. Judge granted my motion to dismiss.

Client is college student. Due to overwhelming college pressure and related stress, stole couple hundred dollars worth of cosmetics at Sephora's. Was caught and client confessed. City Attorney in L. ... A. court wanted client to plead to petty theft, complete caldrons, pay fine, be placed on 3 years unsupervised probation. I had client evaluated by anti-theft psychiatrist, who opined Client committed act out of stress and that client not inclined to repeat behavior. Provided city attorney with Client's college transcripts, awards, proof of involved organizations, extracurricular activities, proof of student visa, because Client was international student.
