Joel Grim Bowden

Kind of odd to say about an injury attorney but he doesn't like to go to court. My niece was injured in an automobile accident and Mr. Bowden told us not to pursue litigation but to settle with the insurance company. They offered $6500 but her hospital bills alone were over $13,000 plus the damage to... he car. Mr Bowden was going to take 45% for his fee so she was nowhere close to being made "whole" for someone else's actions. We took her case to an another attorney who threatened litigation with the insurance company and ended up with a settlement of $37,500. Never ever do business with Joel Bowden as he will not put in much of an effort for you.

In the 8 months or so I had hired Joel Bowden regarding an accident which was caused by another, I never once met Mr Bowden until the last day. You see his Paralegals handle everything for the most part. I had to have surgery which didn't help my pain and I will have to suffer with this for the rest ...of my life thanks to Bowden and his team. I worked very hard at doing all the leg work for his paralegal, she usually would avoid my calls until she wanted to return my call (usually the following week) I obtained enlargements of the accident scene and I actually felt like I was working for myself with all the work I put in on my own case, this went on for over 1/2 a year, I was called on a Friday that the 'other sides' attorney wanted to ask me questions on that following Monday. I was not prepared or instructed by either the paralegal Teresa or Joel Bowden as to how I should conduct myself during this Deposition.. the other lawyer came in and obviously he knew mr Bowden, they were talking about another lawyer and golf while I sat way past the time I was instructed to be there.. the lawyer asked me questions and I answered them truthfully. after I was told to sit in another meeting room and mr Bowden came in and told me that I shouldn't have answered 1 or 2 questions the lawyer asked me, Well I guess if I would have been given instructions or formally introduced to my own lawyer before hand then I would have had a better understanding of what I was going into, instead joel threw me into the devils den, for me to fend for myself. all of a sudden my case went from being a ''Good Case'' as I was always told to being not so good and he doubt I would get far if he went to court, I asked him that I would prefer going to court and have a jury trial. he said he didn't want to take it that far... so all the evidence, even sworn affidavit, the photo evidence that was gathered for all those months was for nothing, he offered me $1,500 and there is no telling what he walked away with, these people are only set up to accept settlements, they may say they go to court however their bark is just that, a worthless bark!!! I wouldn't refer these clowns to anyone, not even an enemy. My surgery ended up ruining my credit because of my inability to pay and I could have never imagined that I would be treated this way. I thought they had my best interest at heart, seeing that I was the client... Nope- In reading these reviews I was surprised that their common theme was to have the client do all of the work and in the end the hope the adjuster will want to settle..... this though me a valuable lesson to not trust any lawyer because of the way I was treated...

They don't help you...you do all your own work just for them to tell you we're not going to court because there is a chance we may lose so they tell you to settle for basically nothing..but they make sure they get paid more than you even if your hurt....terrible!!!! They don't communicate well you ha...ve to keep calling and calling!

MR BOWDEN FAILED ME AS A CLIENT...MY DAUGHTER DID ALL THE WORK, (slide show of car's that was in the accident, slide show of injury of burnt marks on face, both legs & foot from air bags, lost bottom dentures, police report, medical report & bills, typed deposition, & complete diagram picture of sto...p sign & red light) WERE PERSON DRIVING THE CAR RAN STOP SIGN & RED LIGHT!!! PERSON WAS GIVEN A TICKET, BOTH CARS TOTALED & TOWED AWAY. NO ONE FROM MR. BOWDEN OFFICE EVER CAME TO MY HOUSE TO SEE ME, PLACED IN HOSPITAL FOR 1 MONTH & FOUND OUT OTHER DRIVER WAS TEXING & HAD DRUGS IN CAR...MR BOWDEN SHOWED NONE OF THE EVIDENCE, AND ALL I RECEIVED WAS $13,000 & HE RECEIVED $8,000!!! and this was after waiting 31/2 yrs...ALL MR. BOWDEN WANT IS QUICK MONEY LIKE YOUR AMBULANCE CHASERS, AS WE CALL THEM!!!!! AS FOR GOING TO COURT, OH NO NEVER, BECAUSE THAT MEANS HE WOULD HAVE TO COME OUT HIS POCKET WITH SOME MONEY, AND HE DON'T KNOW IF HE WILL WIN THE CASE...( and probably he won't) TO GET HIS MONEY BACK... I WILL HAVE THESE INJURIES FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE, HE NEVER SENT ME TO ANY DOCTORS, I WENT TO MY OWN, AND HE NEVER PAID ANY OF MY BILLS!!!! SO IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A LAWYER THAT WILL LOOK OUT FOR YOU...THIS LAWYER MR. BOWDEN IS DIFFERENTLY NOT THE ONE!!!!!! I WISH I DID MORE RESEARCH, BECAUSE SOMETHING THIS SERIOUS WHEN YOU HAVE MARKS ON YOUR BODY & A SWALLOWING PROBLEM THAT YOU WILL HAVE FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE...THESE TYPE OF INJURIES ARE NOT SUPPOSE TO BE TAKEN LIGHTLY, YOU WANT SOMEONE THAT WILL LOOK OUT FOR YOUR WELFARE....NOT SOME LAWYER THAT JUST GO THRU THE MOTIONS TO GET IT DONE TO PUT SOME QUICK MONEY IN HIS POCKET....SO BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE....THIS IS ABOUT YOUR LIFE!!!!!!!!! STAY AWAY FROM JOEL BOWDEN....THAT WAS MY EXPERIENCE WITH HIM.....
