Gilbert J. Andia Jr.

Beginning my legal career in the United States Air Force, I quickly became experienced in trial practice.  I've tried hundreds of military courts-martial in front of military juries, in cases ranging from the simplest cases involving drug use to more complicated cases involving murder, child abuse, and sexual assault.  My last active duty position was the chief military prosecutor in the Air Force for the Eastern Judicial Circuit, supervising 5 active duty prosecutors with the responsibility for trying complex courts-martial and training young Staff Judge Advocates in trial advocacy.  I was requested to teach various topics at the Air Force Judge Advocate School throughout my active duty career.  

In 1995, I passed the Patent Bar Exam and became a registered patent attorney.  Shortly thereafter, I left active duty and coupled my trial experience with my technical education to begin my civilian legal career handling litigation matters in the areas of patents, trademarks, and copyrights.  

Since joining Higgins Benjamin, I've expanded my trial practice to include all types of business and commercial litigation.  I've been challenged by complex patent cases, and wiling to take on smaller, less compex matter that could benefit from my particiular experience and knowledge.  I've handled disputes involving construction, will and estates, real property , contracts, collections, and banking.  

I have the experience and passion to successfully see a case through trial, but the sense to find acceptable alternatives to the costly litigation process.
