Betty F. Toussaint

Attorney Betty F. Toussaint is a passionate and zealous litigator with a strong knowledge in criminal defense, family law, education law, and advocating for children and youth with special needs in both the school system and the juvenile justice system. Ms. Toussaint graduated with honors from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in Criminal Justice.   Attorney Toussaint started her legal career as a prosecutor for the Twelfth Judicial Circuit in Sarasota, Florida. She prosecuted misdemeanors, DWIs, juvenile delinquency cases, and domestic violence cases. Later, Ms. Toussaint expanded her legal career to include the defense of criminal defendants and family law. As a criminal defense lawyer, she defended individuals accused of felonies, misdemeanors, and youth involved in the juvenile criminal justice system. In addition, she represented unwed fathers in custody, paternity, and child support matters, and protected the rights and property of her clients that were going through the difficult journey of divorce. Ms. Toussaint has also earned a master’s degree in youth ministry, which has served her clients and their families well. Ms. Toussaint is a former educator and school administrator and has been trained as a Guardian ad Litem in Metro-Atlanta, Georgia. Ms. Toussaint works to leverage every experience, every skill, and every bit of knowledge she has acquired for the good of her clients. Attorney Toussaint is licensed to practice law in North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida and will accept cases in Metro-Atlanta, the Triad, and Broward and Miami-Dade County.
