A Real Gentleman - Open, Helpful, and Generous with His Time & Experience

I contacted Dr. Loftin regarding a matter for which I may need an attorney. He invited me in and discussed the matter at length, despite not being "on the clock" and me not being a client. A credit to Hillsborough.

Speeding Ticket

John has handled a speeding ticket for me. He was very prompt in letting me know what I was to expect and what the outcome would be. And sure enough, he got my ticket reduced and saved me a bunch of money! Thanks John!

Takes money does little

We hired Mr. Loftin to get an alimony payment modified for my 89 year old father that can no longer afford the original payments. We found that emails were not read, he did not communicate with us even on basic things. We were working with him remotely as we live in another state. He just kept postpo...ning the case and charging $500 each time he postponed when if he had asked for the information he needed we could have had something accomplished. At the end of the day we will try and get something back on the retainer as nothing was accomplished that we hired him to do because of his poor communication and lack of follow through.

Don't hire him

Mr. Loftin promised a lot however, he was completely lacking any initiative. Didn't have any plan regarding how to proceed in my best interests. I always had to suggest him what should be done as a result of internet research I performed. He was always in the defense instead of protecting me and my i...nterests from the other side which was very aggressive. I changed the attorney (unfortunately after wasting time and money with Mr. Loftin) and now I understand the meaning of "staying behind your client" and "defensing his interests".

Not a good choice. Give your money to a deserving charity.

Promised allot but did nothing outside of the court room. No private lab test. No argument at all. Spent one hour pleading guilty for me. Upon my release from prison I tried to complain and he escorted me out of his office. I am bound by the truth or my review will not be supported. He charged m...e $5000 that would have been much better off spent with the SPCA if that is the correct abbreviation for the people that rescue sick pets and abused dog fighting victims. It is very difficult to keep opinions or personal attacks out of this review. So, I must defer to an old saying, If you don't have anything good to say don't say anything, so the following is a summary of how I feel about John D Loftin.
