You may have to wait, but this should not stop you from consulting with a Federal attorney to start the mitigation process.
If a body is found on federal land i.e. “National Forest” B.L.M. “Public Land”. Who has jurisdiction? Feds or State of Nrvada?

Both can assert JD, but Fed only if it is designated Federal land.
