Robert E. Probst

I’ve practiced law in Winston-Salem for over 30 years. The most important lesson I’ve learned during this time is that my clients are people. People who just want to provide for their families and enjoy their lives. When they find themselves in need of a lawyer, they want to be treated with dignity and respect, given honest advice and to feel like their lawyer cares about them and the outcome of their case. Understanding this can be just as important as the outcome. This is why I like to get to know my clients as people first and clients second. The relationship I develop with my clients is the backbone of my practice and the reason clients come back to me and refer their friends and families to me.

I value this philosophy of practicing law more than my resume. However, in case you are interested, I graduated from the University of Baltimore in 1985 with a B.S. in Business Administration and from Wake Forest University School of Law with a J. D. in 1988.

I focus my practice in four main areas: Serious Personal Injury, Criminal Defense, Family Law, and Immigration. I’ve literally represented thousands of clients in all types of matters related to these areas. I’ve tried cases in front of judges, juries, and administrative law judges in Forsyth, Stokes, Surry, Davidson, Davie, and Guilford counties. I’ve appeared in both state and federal courts. I’ve even represented individuals with claims in surrounding states.

I am a member of the NC State Bar, Forsyth County Bar, Forsyth County Criminal Defense Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

I’ve been married for 30 years and have 3 wonderful children. When I’m not working I enjoy spending time with my family, reading books (especially on the beach), and shamelessly quoting lines from favorite movies and television shows. I also enjoy Tae Kwon Do and currently hold the rank of 1st Degree Black Belt.
