Monica R. Guy concentrates her practice in the area of family and domestic issues representing husbands, wives, mothers, fathers and grandparents on various legal issues. She has handled cases in all aspects of family relations, including adoption, child custody and visitation, termination of parental rights, child support, spousal support (alimony), separation agreements, enforcement of orders relating to support, divorce, property division (equitable division), cohabitation agreements, pre-marital (prenuptial) agreements, marriage, domestic violence and other legal issues pertinent to the family.
Monica believes that mediation can be beneficial to most cases. She not only participates in mediation when advocating for her client, but also acts as a mediator for other parties. Monica completed the 40-hour course offered by Mediation, Inc. This Family & Divorce Mediation instruction course satisfied the training requirements in Rule 8 of the Rules of NC Supreme Court implementing settlement procedures in equitable distribution and other family financial cases.
