He's not really interested in helping you

Where to begin? Mr. Yackel failed to file paperwork essential to my case on multiple occasions. My civil rights were violated when I was falsely arrested, and Mr. Yackel claimed that he would "take care of it" after he won my administrative case. He never filed the civil case. When I asked him... about it, Mr Yackel said that he "assumed" I "couldn't afford to file a civil case against the arresting officer or police department", even though that wasn't true, but he never even bothered to ask me. Mr. Yackel allowed the statute of limitations to pass, so I am not able to file a claim seeking justice for my arrest. Mr. Yackel was unprepared for my hearing and made many mistakes and omissions, which then became part of the official record of the case. He did not, at any time, bring up the fact that my arrest was improper, nor did he mention that officers violated numerous laws during my arrest. This is might be because he missed the appointment he set up with me the morning of my hearing to go over the facts of the case. In addition, Mr. Yackel did not file a petition for me to be reimbursed for court costs and attorney's fees for my, despite promising me he would. It took me over 7 years to prevail in my case, and I am sure one of the reasons for my success is that I fired Mr. Yackel just before my case was appealed to the state supreme court. If you find yourself in need of legal representation in Morgantown WV, please look elsewhere. I can't stress this enough.

Don't trust Ray Yackel with your case if it's important to you....

I made the mistake of hiring Ray Yackel. It's been nothing but down hill since then. He's missed meetings, showed up to court late before my testimony, missing a pre-conference hearing, which caused me to have to wing everything at the hearing. Since that time, at each juncture of my case, Ray can no...t recall any of the details of my case, and needs me to explain it all to him all over again. This does not inspire confidence that the man can advocate for anyone if he can't even recall minor details of cases he's worked on for years. When motions are made by the court, Ray has delayed sending out notices to me wasting weeks of valuable response time. You'll get a letter saying a brief is due a day or two from the date you received the letter from Rays office. How anyone can defend themselves competently in instances like this is beyond me. The worst of it all is, the West Virginia legal system is so corrupt, and so much of a good old boys club, that you can't even find an attorney to undo the damage once Ray has worked on your case.
