Matthew E DeVore

I’m proud to say that I was born and raised in West Virginia.

I graduated from Parkersburg South in 2005 and earned my undergraduate degree from WVU-P. In 2010, I left home to attend law school at the University of Akron. I focused my studies on trial practice and individual rights, and I earned the highest grade in my class for Trial Advocacy, Criminal Law, and First Amendment Law.

In July 2013, I had the honor of attending the Trial Lawyers College in DuBois, Wyoming as a student intern. There, I spent three weeks learning trial skills from the legendary Gerry Spence and other of the nation’s top trial attorneys.

As soon as I earned my law degree, I decided to come home. I was admitted to the West Virginia Bar on June 11, 2014 and began my practice immediately.

My goal is simple: to seek justice for West Virginians who have been accused of committing crimes. Anyone who finds him- or herself in that position deserves loyal, compassionate, and skilled representation, and I am proud to offer it. I believe that the words “beyond a reasonable doubt” are among the most powerful and necessary words in a free society, and I will hold the government to that burden for every single one of my clients
