Terrible lawyer

He is a waste of time. He does not do his job will not return phone calls and will lie right to your face if he even knows your name. Do not hire him!!

No effort, disrespectful

I got assigned Mr. Whiteoak after i went to my first court date and they offered me year unsupervised probation and drug court. Being my first time in trouble, figured would have chance lighter sentence. Mr. Whiteoak the second had me wasting my time requesting a public defender to not call me back a...ny of the 3 times i called.told me my best bet is to accept their deal even though first time in trouble i died in their custody my first night in jail and since been out have been working a full time job and even did a week drug program in Morgantown voluntarily. After about 20 minutes of trying to see if there is other options and then kept coming up with the attitude rolling his eyes and pinching his nose I finally said screw it you are not helping me try to get any other option besides what they offered me with no public defender over a month ago so I guess I have to take it. Went into the courtroom filling out the papers and then he whispers in my ear oh yeah you also have 30 hours of community service to get done in less than a month. My vehicle has been broken down for over a month now, so now I am going to be juggling a full-time job over 45 hours a week three days a week at drug court and trying to walk to work which takes me about 3 and 1/2 hours to walk to work three and a half hours to walk back but I also have to walk 3 and a 1/2 hours to drug court three and a half hours back and have to walk 2 hours to community service 2 hours back. For an illegal search and some possession of a few THC carts 8 months ago.

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
