FIRST DUI EVER & SCARED TO DEATH (MD RESIDENT)

Mark Sutton is a fresh breath of air and one who I have been very please with so far. He took his time to explain what could possibly be the out come of a hug mistake on my part. I wasn’t even driving which is the sad part however I own my mistake and look forward to our day in Court. I will update t...his review once I know the outcome. Fingers crossed. Please do yourself a favor and hire this gentleman! You won’t regret this choice!!

He's Excellent!

If you want wood-paneled office walls, posh client accommodations, and sky-high fees to help pay for those and other unnecessary things, Mark Sutton and his office are not for you. On the other hand, if, as I did, you want an able, experienced attorney who knows the people who need to be known in th...e court system and who seeks not just good but the best results, then Mark Sutton is your guy. In two separate cases, Mark well exceeded my hopes in one and met them in another. I could not have asked for more in terms of his getting things done and keeping the client's interest foremost.

Mark Sutton Performance in felony destruction of property case

I hired Mark to defend my son who got into trouble with a group of juveniles. I wanted him to take responsibility for his actions, pay his fair share and learn from the experience, but the police were out to ruin his future with felony convictions and jail time. Working with an attorney is not somet...hing that most people do every day, so it’s hard to know what parts of a case to expect an attorney to handle, and which you should expect to handle yourself. To be honest, I’m still not really sure exactly where that boundary is, but I learned that you and your lawyer are a team, and Mark was an excellent teammate. Why do we need lawyers? To understand the legal jargon and speak for you in court; to negotiate offers; and to guide you through the basics of the legal process. But more than that, you need someone that understands the intricacies of negotiation and has good instincts on what will and won't work in court. Mark is that lawyer. I am a very proactive person, and waiting for the wheels of justice to turn was very frustrating for me. Mark worked very hard on several occasions, to keep me from making rash decisions in my frustration and explained how important patience was in any case. With Mark’s guidance, and when the time was appropriate, I was able to communicate with the plaintiffs, at their discretion, and discuss what they thought was a reasonable punishment for the offense. This helped in softening the prosecutor's stance on the case. We also gathered as many witness statements as possible for Mark's review and use in the case. Mark pretty much did the rest. He has a great understanding of how cases make their way through the courts, when to negotiate, how to press for action and how to get all parties on your side – as much as they can be. He has a good working relationship with the prosecutor, which helped convince the police to look at the statements we had collected and take a full and honest statement from my son. After a great deal of effort on both our parts, we got the reasonable settlement we were looking for with a misdemeanor charge and probation in place of felonies and jail time. The lesson for my son is paying off. He broke ties with the juvenile troublemakers, is working hard and is not far from paying off his settlement.

Superior Performance!

I could not have hired a better attorney for my case. During my first consultation with Mr. Sutton he explained every aspect of the charges brought against me and shared his knowledge of handling similar cases. That gave me some hope. His office staff was professional and polite and provided timel...y correspondence on very important Hearing dates. Ultimately, his 20+ years of experience as a criminal defense attorney gave me the legal standing I needed to have my case dismissed, and more importantly, that saved my job! I can see why he is highly respected in the legal community. I highly recommend him to my friends and family. If you value your freedom and your job, then you definitely want Mark Sutton on your side.

Awesome Attorney

I hired Mark Sutton to handle my DUI case. Best decision I made for the circumstances. I was originally given a court appointed attorney and I am glad I decided to speak with Mark. He handled everything from the beginning to the end. I understood everything that was going to happen through thorou...gh explanation from Mark. I would have had to handle all this my myself if I had a court appointed attorney. Mark explained the whole process and eased my mind. If I ever need a Criminal Defense Attorney again, I would definitely retain Mark Sutton.
