About Joshua
Biography
Over more than 35 years of practice I have been involved in virtually all types of civil litigation in State and Federal Courts. I have tried multiple personal injury and death cases, including industrial and mining accidents, trucking and motor vehicle accidents, and medical malpractice cases. I also handled and tried a wide variety of commercial cases, including contract disputes, insurance, lender liability, fraud, and tortious interference cases, and have been counsel in complex litigation, including securities and antitrust cases and class actions, and cases involving alleged misconduct in pharmaceutical distribution and pricing. I currently represent the State of West Virginia in antitrust and pharmaceutical pricing litigation in federal and state court.
I also have litigated environmental cases on behalf of citizens groups over my entire career, including cases involving violations of surface mining laws, air pollution, and endangered species protection. I taught environmental law courses at the WVU College of Law on several occasions, most recently in 2015.
I am currently Of Counsel to the law firm DiTrapano, Barrett, DiPiero, McGinley, & Simmons, PLLC, which I helped found in 1998 (then DiTrapano, Barrett, & DiPiero, PLLC) and of which I was a Member until 2014, when I became Of Counsel.
In addition to my legal work, I am a musician and current member of Appalachian Association of Professional Musicians, Local 136 of the American Federation of Musicians.
