1 Star — I strongly regret hiring Luke Rubenstein and Johnstone & Gabhart to handle my automobile accident claims.

*Please note I attempted to contact the firm three times prior to my review to discuss the handling of the case with no response. I was involved in two separate automobile accidents only 20 days apart, on December 3 and December 23, 2024. Luke was aware of both accidents and the medical issues inv...olved. In hindsight, my biggest concern is how the relationship between those two accidents and my injuries was handled. I had a pre-existing condition, the accidents occurred very close together, and I believe the possibility that my injuries were aggravated by both accidents—or could not reasonably be divided between them—should have been carefully considered and protected from the beginning. Instead, as I understand how my first claim was presented, essentially all of my continuing injuries and damages were attributed to the first accident. When I later attempted to pursue the second accident, the position taken in the first claim became a major obstacle. I have since been unable to find an attorney willing to pursue the second claim under those circumstances. What makes this particularly difficult for me is that Luke repeatedly emphasized what he viewed as a very successful recovery considering the relatively small amount of property damage to my vehicle. At the time, that was presented to me as evidence of how good the result was. Looking back at the overall picture, I feel very differently. A settlement number means very little to me if the way the claims were handled leaves significant questions about whether my interests were protected across both accidents. I am 26 years old and continue to require substantial medical treatment. Based on my current treatment costs and frequency, that care can exceed $32,000 annually, and I am facing the possibility of needing this treatment for many years to come. That reality makes the handling of these claims incredibly consequential to me. I cannot speak for anyone else's experience with Luke Rubenstein or Johnstone & Gabhart. I can only describe mine. Based on my experience, if I could go back and make the decision again, I would not hire this firm to handle these claims. If you have multiple accidents, overlapping injuries, aggravation of a pre-existing condition, or any question about which accident caused which portion of your injuries, I would strongly encourage you to get an independent second legal opinion before resolving anything. By contrast, I highly recommend Morgan & Morgan based on my experience with them. Their team took the time to review both accident files and my medical history together rather than looking at the situation in isolation. I have found their approach to be far more thorough, team-oriented, and attentive to the bigger picture of my situation. I wish I had sought that kind of second review much earlier and prior to settling.
